The Rays found ways to beat Angel’s starters CJ Wilson and new comer Zack Greinke to win the series. With lack of an offense, the Rays managed to ride the arms of Matt Moore and Jeremy Hellickson to take two of three in Anaheim.

While Alex Cobb went seven decent innings during Friday night’s game, the Rays couldn’t seem to match his performance from the plate. The Angels’ ace Dan Haren gave up one run on five hits in six innings while the Rays went 0-for-7 with runners in scoring position.

Tampa Bay Bay would go on to win the following two game by a total score of 5-0. That’s right, the Rays bullpen would hold the Angels to three hits in 5 2/3 over the two games and along with starters Moore and Hellickson, the pitching staff would record 19 strikeouts in the two victories.

All-Star closer Fernando Rodney earned his 29th and 30th saves on the season which is one shy of the league lead. Rodney has also posted a 0.77 ERA this season.

The Rays will now head to Oakland to play the A’s on Monday night.
